  • Senior Director - Economic Planning at New York Air

A co-founder of New York Air, responsible for corporate resource planning, aircraft scheduling, and expansion (destination) planning. During this period, NYAir was the fastest-growing Part 121 airline in the United States (1980-1982), and entered highly-publicized service against the incumbent Eastern Airlines Shuttle with competing hourly service between New York LGA and Boston Logan and Washington National airports. Represented New York Air in intricate and contentious negotiations to obtain "slots" for operations its initial services between LaGuardia, Boston, and Washington (these airports are capacity-controlled, and airlines allocate slots under USDoT anti-trust immunity agreements). This was a high-profile position within NY Air, and my activities and statements were very closely scrutinized by the FAA and national press.
